Halesbury School is committed to ensuring the welfare and safety of all our students by protecting them from any signs of abuse, by helping to look after their mental and physical health and by ensuring that our children develop and grow within safe and secure settings.
We believe that students have a right to learn in a supportive, caring and safe environment where staff are vigilant for signs of any student in distress and are confident about applying the processes to avert and alleviate any such problems.
We follow the Dudley Safeguarding People Partnership Board procedures. Policies relating to safeguarding are available from this website or directly from the school.
Safeguarding is about ensuring that everyone is safe from harm - safe from bullying, safe from people who could abuse, safe from discrimination or harassment - and that we all feel safe in our environment. If your child is ever concerned about safety or wellbeing or about a friend, they should talk to someone such as a parent or a member of staff.
Pupils are regularly reminded they are able to speak to a variety of staff to express any worries. The school has a qualified Psychotherapist who, through a referral system, is able to support pupils' mental health and well being.
The Designated Safeguarding Lead is Amanda Appleby Payne (Head Teacher) and can be contacted at any time via email - info@halesbury.dudley.sch.uk
Our school approach to safeguarding complies with the Department for Education's guidance document
