Welcome to Jade Class.

In Jade Class we have eight children in Key Stage 2 (Upper Primary). We support learning through a Total Communication approach, using Makaton and everyone is encouraged to join in. Mr Campbell is the class teacher and we have three teaching assistants and a care assistant. 

We deliver targeted learning activities across the curriculum. We also love learning through play and exploring sensory activities as well. In Jade Class we will work in a similar way to the school’s other classes and follow the Structured Teaching approach (TEACCH). Our aim is to engage each child and to foster self-regulation and communication strategies to develop resilience.

Routine is important to us and every morning we enjoy movement breaks, greetings songs, Dough Disco (to develop hand function and early writing skills) and Phonics.

Our Week:

* PE on Tuesdays.

* Dance with Miss Rachel on Wednesdays

* Rhythm Time on Thursdays

* Forest School on Mondays or Fridays (we will let you know depending on allocated sessions)
