Headteacher Letter to Parents and Carers

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we come to the end of a long academic year, which has been full of challenges, I would like to thank all of you for your support and patience throughout the whole year. As I reflect, it has actually been nearly 2 academic years we have worked through the impact of COVID. It has been difficult for all of you as we have had to be very strict and cautious with symptoms and positive tests. For many of you this has meant you have had your children at home in isolation for 10 days. For some of you, this has happened multiple times. Again, I very much appreciate the support you have given the school in these difficult circumstances.

The positive side is how well the children have coped in school and their excellent behaviour, despite all the changes and challenges. Our older pupils have coped amazingly well with the addition of twice weekly COVID testing.

In our first week back in September the pupils will go back to this year’s class, which again we will bubble. The second week we will transition the children into their new classes. All parents will be notified of the changes in the first week back. Can I also remind you that if you require any information, Mrs Payne is available to answer your questions. As well as bubbles, we will also wear masks on site and it is highly likely that testing will carry on. I feel that the year will start as challenging as we will leave it.

Lastly, I would like to wish you and your children a very happy summer holiday. With your support and hard work you make my job that little bit easier, and I thank you for that. I hope that many of you will get that holiday you have waited patiently for, and that you all get a well earned rest.
