Who are the HHSA and what do they do?
The HHSA are a group of parent/carers who fundraise money and organise events at Halesbury School. The group organises events in school time and at weekends for Halesbury pupils and their families to enjoy which in turn raises funds. Key events are the Christmas Fayre and Summer Fun Day with other activities throughout the year such as Easter Egg Hunts and Halloween Discos. The group meets regularly (usually once or twice a half term) to plan events and activities.
What is the purpose and aims of the group?
The groups aim is to provide fun additional activities to the pupils of Halesbury and to ensure we can offer as many opportunities as any other child would receive from their school experience.
The money raised contributes to items or experiences that are not covered by the school budget. For example, last academic year each class had an additional trip or in school experience during the summer term, there was trips to the zoo, the safari park, Sycamore, Inflatanation, Drayton manor and many more! These additional experiences help to enhance life skills, community integration and much more for our pupils as well as being really good fun! The group also supported in funding class Christmas Parties and provided Easter Eggs for every child in school.
How can you support?
Since the start of the pandemic much of the work of the HHSA has been put on hold and fundraising has not been an option, there has been a skeleton team working in the background but now we need to rebuild a team of support in order to fundraise for more treats and experiences for our pupils.
There is a number of ways you can help:
