Dear Parents/Carers,
After an extensive meeting with the Local Authority and Public Health, we have made the difficult decision that Silver Class and Blue Class will be closed for a 10 day ‘fire break’. We understand how difficult this can be for parents, however we are now classed as an ‘outbreak school’ in which we have to take drastic measures to contain the spread of the COVID virus. This decision does not come lightly, but does come with the support of the local authority and public health.
Subsequently, as a result of the increase of positive cases in our school we will regrettably have to cancel any Christmas performance and the Christmas fayre. These are again measures we need to implement to stop the virus spreading in the school.
In every decision that we make we will always consider the welfare of the school and the community. I ask that you support us in these measures with the hope that we can get children back on site and resume their education without constant disruption.
For those pupils in Blue and Silver Class, work will be provided via remote learning and work sent home. I would ask parents to communicate as normal, by email or Class Dojo with any difficulties you might experience.
Pupils in the rest of the school should continue to attend as usual.
We will also endeavour to support our families as much as possible during this difficult time.
We will be encouraging parents to order new lateral flow tests for home. More information will be provided shortly.
