Dear Parents and Carers,

The Christmas holidays are soon upon us, and many things are happening in and out of school. You will have been notified by your teacher of which days you have been invited into class to share a Christmas performance and activities with your children. I hope you enjoy your time in class and start to feel the Christmas spirit.
On Tuesday 19th December some of our pupils will be performing at the Special Schools Christmas Carol concert at Dudley Town Hall. This is always a hugely popular event and tickets are available on the Dudley Council Website.

I would like to thank all parents for their support at the Christmas fayre. Despite the weather we had an amazing turnout. Everyone who attended enjoyed the many activities and stalls. I would like to thank Mrs Devlin for organising this event on behalf of the HHSA this year. She did a great job.

Looking to the new year, there are a number of changes I need to inform you about. Miss Lovell will be leaving us at the end of this term and will be replaced by Mrs Wood in Pathway 3. I would like to thank Miss Lovell for all her hard work with the pupils and her contribution to Halesbury School. We wish her all the best for the future. We will be welcoming a new teacher, Miss Reid, into Topaz class. As always we will send out her email address to the parents and carers of pupils in that class. She has already made an excellent contribution to Flamingo class and we look forward to her experience being utilised in Topaz class.

I would also like to announce that this will be my last year as Halesbury Head Teacher. I will be retiring from headship in July. I have worked at Halesbury for many years and seen many changes. In the last 9 years it has been an honour and a privilege to have served as Head Teacher. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me during this time.

It leaves me to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We will welcome pupils back on the 9th of January at the start of the new term.

Yours sincerely,

Mr J Kulyk
