On Wednesday 24th January, 85 pupils from Halesbury School attended a relaxed performance of 'Jack and the Beanstalk' at Birmingham Hippodrome, which featured an all-star cast. As it was a relaxed performance, the experience of being in a theatre was made more accessible as pupils had access to ear defenders, fidget toys, chill out spaces and a sensory room if they needed a little break from the performance. In addition, the theatre had additional staff and volunteers working in all areas of the theatre to make sure that help was never far away should it be needed. Our pupils were in good voice, laughed a lot and really engaged in the Panto experience...oh yes they did!
We hope to be able to continue to build on our partnership with Birmingham Hippodrome in order to continue to provide these enriching experiences for all of our students!
